GRIEF AND LOSS

Grief is a universal experience, yet the journey through loss can leave you feeling untethered and uncertain about how to move forward. Losing someone we hold dear affects us emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. Having a safe space to talk about your loss and reflect on your relationship is the first step toward healing. My goal is to support you in navigating the complex emotions that accompany loss and mourning—anger, fear, resentment, sadness, anxiety, guilt, and even numbness. Together, we develop coping strategies that help you function, adjust to this new reality, and eventually come to a place of acceptance.

Acceptance does not mean forgetting or moving on; instead, it involves finding joy and meaning in your life despite the void left behind.

A key focus of my practice is on traumatic loss, where a loved one dies unexpectedly. This type of loss brings an additional layer of sorrow and trauma. I work with individuals, families, and groups to address both the trauma response and the grief itself.

My own experiences with loss have inspired me to offer this support. It’s my privilege to walk alongside you during this time of bereavement and work toward healing.

My Approach:

Compassionate Support: I provide a warm, non-judgmental space for you to express your feelings freely.

Coping Strategies: I help you access practical tools and techniques to help you process your emotions as you mourn your loss and find a path toward healing.

Processing Emotions: Grief emotions can be overwhelming. I want you to learn to understand and express the complex emotions associated with loss.

Normalization and Validation: Sometimes, we feel like what we are experiencing or feeling is wrong. I assist individuals in recognizing that unfamiliar emotions and experiences are valid and valuable in their healing process.

Finding Meaning: While difficult to imagine during the initial acute phase of grief, we can eventually explore ways to honor your loved one and find meaning in their loss.
